April 27, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5430 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2629 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3249 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS), Euro Tech Holdings Company Limited (NASDAQ:CLWT), FTI Consulting Inc. (NYSE:FCN), American Superconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:AMSC), Ocean Power Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:OPTT), Medigus Shs Sponsored American Deposit Receipr Repr 100 Shs (NASDAQ:MDGS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MVIS $-0.420 -0.15% 834,541 35.10% 1,112,832 46.81% -278,291 -6,626
  CLWT $-0.630 -0.17% 77,136 20.75% 105,815 28.47% -28,679 -455
  FCN $-6.540 -0.16% 451,804 26.96% 494,376 29.50% -42,572 -65
  AMSC $-2.090 -0.27% 270,798 33.67% 289,114 35.95% -18,316 -88
  OPTT $-0.610 -0.30% 4,056,365 40.90% 4,135,932 41.70% -79,567 -1,304
  MDGS $-0.380 -0.14% 959,336 40.77% 1,093,092 46.45% -133,756 -3,520
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.42000 and a Friction Factor of -6,626 shares. That means that it only took 6,626 more shares of selling than buying to move MVIS lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
