CML HealthCare Inc. to Participate in the Pink Tour Campaign to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer Screening
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 16, 2012) - CML HealthCare Inc. (TSX:CLC) ("CML") is pleased to announce that our Pickering diagnostic imaging staff will be on hand at the Pink Bus Tour on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at 1105 Kingston Road, Pickering, to provide information on breast cancer screening. Managed by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Pink Bus Tour's objective is to raise the awareness of breast cancer screening and the Ontario Breast Screening Program.
Breast cancer will affect one in nine Canadian women during their lifetime and is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in Canadian women. Each year, more than 23,000 women in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer. When detected early, breast cancer patients have more treatment options, less invasive forms of treatment, and a better chance of surviving the disease. The most effective early detection for breast cancer is regular screening of eligible women before any signs or symptoms of the disease manifest, including tumours that are too small to feel.
