JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Humana Inc. ] (NYSE: HUM), one of Floridaas leading health benefits companies, has named Dr. John Montgomery as its new vice president and medical officer for its Florida commercial markets.

In his new statewide role, Dr. Montgomery is responsible for leading Humanaas clinical programs for its commercial lines of business throughout the state. He will be based in Jacksonville.
Dr. Montgomery has been with Humana since October 2010, serving as the companyas regional medical director for Florida, responsible for clinical policy and physician clinical review. Recently, Dr. Montgomery also began overseeing all of Humanaas Commercial Outpatient Clinical Physician Review medical directors around the country.

Dr. Montgomery currently serves as a delegate to the Florida Medical Association and as an alternate delegate to the American Medical Association. He was just nominated chair-elect of the board for the American Cancer Societyas Florida division. Dr. Montgomery is also a past president of the Duval County Medical Society and past director of Volusia County Health Department.
He received a bacheloras degree in biology from Brown University in Providence, RI, a masteras degree in public health from the Yale University School of Medicine, and his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine.
