Team MannatechSM Athlete Named 2008 World Champion Tie-down Roper

COPPELL, Texas--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Mannatech ], Incorporated (NASDAQ: MTEX), a leading developer and provider of proprietary dietary supplements, weight and fitness products and skin care solutions, has announced that [ Team Mannatech ] athlete and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) contestant Stran Smith won the coveted Gold Buckle for tie-down roping at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas on December 13, 2008, making this his first world title win.

Smith, a 38-year-old calf-roper who is consistently ranked among the top ropers in the world, travels to more than 100 cities a year competing with other world class ropers. He joined the [ Team Mannatech program ] in 2003 and began taking Mannatech products to supplement his demanding routine.

Once he began competing professionally, he competed in the National Finals Rodeo a number of times and in 2001 he tied the calf roping world record of 6.7 seconds.
