Aetna formed the council in 2007 to better serve the South Florida Hispanic community, and recently expanded the scope of its activities to include outreach to Hispanic groups across the United States.

The council is comprised of nationally and locally recognized leaders from the community, as well as Aetna leaders. It includes some of Miami's most distinguished medical, business, religious and community leaders, each known for his or her expertise in understanding and addressing the needs of local consumers.
