Implant Sciences Expands Sales & Marketing Staff

WILMINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 10, 2010) - Implant Sciences Corporation (PINKSHEETS: [ IMSC ]), a high technology supplier of systems and sensors for homeland security and defense markets, today announced the addition of four executives to its sales and marketing team. These appointments come on the heels of increasing market recognition and traction for Implant Sciences technologies in the security and defense markets. The company's Quantum Sniffer™ QS-H150 is deployed in 24 countries to over 100 customers.

"There is growing demand for a cost-effective, technically and operationally superior solution for explosives trace detection at security points throughout the world. Our Quantum Sniffer offers key competitive advantages over other products on the market, as evidenced by growing deployment of our technology. Over the past five years we have sold over 900 of our Quantum Sniffer devices and generated nearly $30 million in revenues. This was accomplished with one salesperson and local distribution partners in key countries. Richard D. Nelson has joined Implant Sciences as General Manager, Air Cargo Screening. Mr. Nelson has held senior marketing management roles at Philips Medical Systems and GE Medical Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Mark Lombardi has joined the company as Managing Director, Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Implant Sciences, Mr. Lombardi was Vice President, Asia Pacific Sales for American Science & Engineering and has more than fourteen years of sales experience in Asia Pacific markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College.

Edward Marsh has come on board as Managing Director, The Americas. Mr. Marsh brings nearly 20 years of senior business development and sales management experience to Implant Sciences. He is a former U.S. Army officer and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Brad Chase, a technology industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, has joined Implant Sciences as Marketing Director. Mr. Chase's background includes leading product management and global marketing. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire.
