(NYSE:HNT) today announced its partnership with 2011 World Super G Paralympic Champion and U.S. Coast Guard Veteran Chris Devlin-Young to motivate and inspire Veterans with disabilities to overcome physical and emotional challenges. Health Neta™s year-long partnership with Devlin-Young will kick off at the upcoming 25th National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village, Colo., March 27 a" April 1, 2011.

Health Net will participate as a host sponsor of the Winter Sports Clinic for the sixth time, as part of its ongoing commitment to serving Veterans and programs that help to improve their quality of life. Devlin-Young will lead the Pledge of Allegiance in the opening ceremonies to be held on Sunday, March 27, as well as serve as an instructor and mentor to other athletes during the week-long athletic events.

In 1982, Devlin-Young was on a Coast Guard mission in Alaskaa™s Aleutian Islands when his plane crashed into a mountain. He suffered irreversible spinal trauma as he attempted to save his fellow crewmembers from the burning wreckage. In 1987, his life was forever changed when he participated in the First National Disabled Winter Sports Clinic. Twenty-five years later, he is the current World Super G Sitting Paralympic Champion, which he won in January at the 2011 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Alpine Skiing World Championships in Sestriere, Italy. Devlin-Young skis on a mono-board, a bucket-like seat attached to a single ski.

The 25th Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, sponsored by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is open to U.S. military Veterans with traumatic injuries and disabilities who receive care at a VA medical facility or military treatment facility. More than 350 athletes are expected to attend and participate in a variety of workshops and educational sessions that will positively impact their rehabilitative journey and readjustment in their communities. For Veterans recently injured in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, the clinic provides an opportunity to test their new-found abilities and develop new lifestyle skills.
