Proceeds from this evening's event will fund TAPS programs, which have helped to provide comfort and care to more than 30,000 families of fallen military service members.

The program includes TAPSa™ inauguration of the Ted Stevens Leadership Award to recognize military survivors, in honor of the late Senator Stevens for his legacy of caring for the families of fallen military service members and his instrumental contributions to founding TAPS in 1994. Additionally, a segment of the upcoming film documentary, aGold Star Children,a which highlights TAPS programs, will be shown. The program will conclude with Nashville recording artist and Health Net partner, Barry Michael, performing his patriotic song aHeroes and Angels,a dedicated to all those who serve, while a group of children from TAPS programs wave goodnight to the attendees.

TAPS provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, case work assistance and a 24/7 resource and information helpline for all who have been affected by a death in the Armed Forces.
