Magellan Launches Behavioral Health Provider Locator App

AVON, Conn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Today, Magellan Health Services (NASDAQ:MGLN) launched the My Provider Locator app, making it possible for individuals to identify a behavioral health care provider nearby from the convenience of their iPhone^�, iPod touch^� or iPad^�. With more than 73 million Americans now using web-enabled smartphones, consumers demand access to information on-the-go. The My Provider Locator app provides real-time access to a list of specialists for individuals accessing Magellana�s behavioral health services through their health plan, employer, county or state. The same information that can be found using Magellana�s online provider database is now conveniently formatted for portable devices.

The app gives users the option of narrowing their provider search criteria among several categories, including location, specialty, ages treated, ethnicity, language spoken and gender. When the GPS function is enabled, users can identify providers closest to their current location. After entering search parameters, users see provider information in a list or plotted on a map and can tap on each providera�s name to see the providera�s complete profile. From within the app, users can also add a provider to their contact list, place a call to the providera�s office and receive turn-by-turn directions to the providera�s location.

Magellana�s My Provider Locator app is available as a free download from the [ Apple App Storea" ]. Individuals accessing Magellana�s behavioral health services can also continue to find provider information via telephone or online via their health plan, employer or county/state-specific Magellan website.
