The goal isn't just to get in shape, though, it's about preparing for the challenges that come with the job.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office hosted a fitness camp on July 29, 2023, aimed at helping potential recruits prepare for the physical demands of the job. The event, held at the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Training Academy, included various physical fitness activities and drills to help participants get in shape and understand what the job entails. Sheriff Denita Ball emphasized the importance of physical fitness for deputies, noting that the camp not only helps potential recruits but also serves as a community outreach effort to encourage more people to consider a career in law enforcement.
