  • MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) has signed a lease agreement to build a new shared-use athletic training facility in the Deer District near the college's downtown Milwaukee campus.

The Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is set to open a new shared-use athletic training facility in the Deer District, adjacent to Fiserv Forum, in the summer of 2024. This facility will serve as a training ground for MATC's sports and entertainment management students, offering them practical experience in event management, hospitality, and security. The space will be available for public use when not in use by MATC, enhancing community engagement and providing additional revenue through rentals. The project, which aims to foster workforce development in sports and entertainment, is part of a broader initiative to revitalize the area around Fiserv Forum, with construction expected to start in the fall of 2023.
