Dr. Lawrence Greenblatt has been appointed as State Health Director and Chief Medical Officer for the NCDHHS and will officially begin on June 2.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has appointed Dr. Susan Kansagra as the new State Health Director, effective immediately. Dr. Kansagra, who previously served as the director of the Division of Public Health, brings extensive experience in public health leadership, having worked on initiatives to improve health outcomes across the state. Her appointment comes at a crucial time as the department aims to address ongoing public health challenges, including the management of chronic diseases and the response to infectious disease outbreaks. NCDHHS Secretary Kody Kinsley expressed confidence in Dr. Kansagra's ability to lead the state's health efforts, citing her proven track record and dedication to public service.
