PARSIPPANY, N.J., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: [ WPI ]) today announced that it has launched an authorized generic version of Xopenex^® (levalbuterol HCl) Inhalation Solution as part of an agreement with Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Watson began shipping the product today. Xopenex^® Inhalation Solution is indicated for the treatment or prevention of bronchospasm in adults, adolescents, and children 6 years of age and older with reversible obstructive airway disease.

For the most recent twelve months ending June 30, 2012, Xopenex^® had total U.S. sales of approximately $474 million, according to IMS Health data.
