(WNDU) - Beacon Health System says visitor restrictions have been lifted at all its hospitals across Michiana. The restrictions were implemented back in early February due to a spike in flu levels, but health officials say they're no longer needed thanks to the recent decline in respiratory illnesses in our community.
Beacon Health System has announced the lifting of visitor restrictions at all its hospitals in Michiana, effective immediately. This decision comes as a response to the stabilization of respiratory illness rates in the community, allowing for a return to more normal visitation policies. Previously, due to high rates of flu, RSV, and COVID-19, strict visitor guidelines were in place. Now, visitors are encouraged to follow standard health protocols like hand hygiene and staying home if sick, but there are no longer specific restrictions on the number of visitors or their visiting hours.
