TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 8, 2009) - Toxin Alert Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TOX) announced today that its Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Hon. Mike Espy, will appear before the Food Safety subcommittee of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Agriculture to give testimony on June 10, 2009.

Mike Espy is the 25th Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture having served in the Administration of President Bill Clinton and as a former Member of the US House of Representatives from the State of Mississippi. Mr. Espy presently works as a private sector attorney, consultant, and advisor to agricultural firms, food aid charities, international NGO's, and rural development financial institutions. He has served as principal advisor to many foreign governments regarding agricultural finance and development programs and has lectured across the world on topics relating to rural development, agricultural finance, multilateral food aid, food safety and international law. He is President of Mike Espy PLLC, AE Agritrade, Inc., serves as Of Counsel to Morgan & Morgan, law firm, and as a board member of CNFA, a non-profit corporation which operates globally to establish food, feed, fertilizer, equipment and trading information systems in the developing world.
