OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 2, 2009) - Bennett Environmental Inc. (TSX:BEV) (the "Company" or "BEI") today announced that its client for the Pottersburg Creek PCB clean-up project has authorized the Company to receive material above the originally contracted amount. BEI originally announced its involvement in this project on February 18, 2009.

As of October 29, 2009, BEI's Saint Ambroise facility has received approximately 75,000 tonnes.

According to the website reporting on progress of the clean-up, [ www.pottersburgdecommissioning.ca ], the work will be moving to the last vault, vault 3, at the end of October.

BEI expects to perform regular maintenance at its Saint Ambroise facility for the week of November 2, 2009. This scheduled shutdown will not affect the facility's ability to receive material and the Company expects that it will have received all of the soil from the Pottersburg storage vaults by the end of 2009.
