BROSSARD, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2009) - DIAGNOS inc. ("DIAGNOS" or "the Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:ADK), a leader in the use of artificial intelligence and advanced knowledge-extraction techniques, announces today that it is proceeding with detailed planning of a commercial pilot project with Carl Zeiss Canada Ltd, ("CZC"), in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding and Non-Disclosure Agreement signed between the two parties on October 1st, 2009.

"We are pleased to be proceeding into a Diabetic Retinopathy screening pilot project with DIAGNOS. The objectives of this project include commercial validation of the joint offering of DIAGNOS' CARA and Zeiss fundus camera, and the subsequent negotiation of a potential revenue sharing agreement" said Mike Dimitrovas, Sales and Marketing Manager of Carl Zeiss Canada Ltd, Eye Care Products Group.

The pilot project is planned to start after DIAGNOS secures Canadian regulatory approval for its Computer Assisted Retinal Analysis (CARA) software later this fiscal year, and will involve deploying Zeiss' equipment and DIAGNOS' software at 2 Canadian clinics, chosen by CZC, which offer optometry and ophthalmology services. The solution will be deployed jointly by DIAGNOS and CZC.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding between DIAGNOS and Carl Zeiss Canada Ltd, the two parties will work together to assure compatibility between DIAGNOS' Computer Assisted Retinal Analysis (CARA) technology and Zeiss' fundus camera and associated imaging software VisuPac, as well as jointly engage in pilot projects aimed at testing the integrated Carl Zeiss Canada Ltd, / DIAGNOS offering in the Canadian marketplace.
