DALLAS--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ The Briscoe Law Firm, PLLC ], founded by a former state prosecutor and enforcement attorney for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, and the law firm of Powers Taylor, LLP are investigating potential legal claims against the Board of Directors of [ Johnson & Johnson ] (?JNJ? or ?Company?) (NYSE: JNJ) during the period of October 14, 2009 and July 21, 2010 (?class period?).

It has been alleged that during the class period, JNJ and certain of its officers and directors violated the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by issuing materially false and misleading statements regarding JNJ. Specifically, it has been claimed that JNJ failed to disclose and misrepresented the following: (1) starting in April of 2008, JNJ received numerous consumer complaints that Tylenol products made at a manufacturing facility in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico exhibited a "musty" odor; (2) that despite being aware of these complaints, JNJ and certain officers and directors failed to conduct an adequate investigation and failed to notify the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") as required; and (3) that defendants failed to take corrective action when foreign materials and contamination were found in a manufacturing facility in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania from May 2009 to April 2010. Moreover, it has been alleged that JNJ and certain officers and directors failed to disclose that they have been forced to issue over eight separate recalls including dozens of products and hundreds of millions of individual packages. Defendants are now under investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and multiple state Attorneys General offices.
