Health Net Sponsors American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Health Net Federal Services ], LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of [ Health Net, Inc. ] (NYSE:HNT), is honored to take part in the official groundbreaking ceremony for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial on Nov. 10, in Washington, D.C.

This historic milestone is a decades-long effort to recognize and honor more than 3million living American Veterans with disabilities. Health Net was an early corporate sponsor of the fundraising efforts for the Memorial and continues to advocate for the health and well-being of all Veterans.

The groundbreaking ceremony will include the participation of award-winning actor Gary Sinise, the Memoriala™s spokesperson, and Lois Pope and Arthur H. Wilson, co-founders and chairman and president, respectively, of the Disabled Veteransa™ LIFE Memorial Foundation. The Memorial will be located on a 2.4-acre triangular site across from the U.S. Botanical Garden and in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol. Construction is scheduled to begin soon.

In an effort to raise the remaining $3.7 million needed to begin construction, the United States Mint is donating $10 from the sale of each 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar to support construction of the Memorial. The coin commemorates the service of the men and women who have honored their country with their selfless duty to defend the United States.
