CINCINNATI--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Chemed Corporation (aChemeda) (NYSE:CHE) today announced its Roto-Rooter Services Company subsidiary has acquired two formerly independent Roto-Rooter franchises covering the Greater Kansas City metro area and Lawrence, Kansas. The entire service area encompasses fourteen contiguous counties, including Douglas, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Buchanan, Cass, Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri. This territory represents a population of approximately 2.1 million with annual revenue of approximately $6 million. The sale was effective December 1, 2010 and terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
