Norfolk's School Mental Health Partnership Shows Significant Gains

Norfolk, VA - April 8, 2026 - A groundbreaking partnership between the Norfolk Department of Public Health (NDPH) and Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) is entering its third year, and early indicators suggest the program is dramatically improving student well-being and academic outcomes. Initially announced in 2024, the initiative has evolved beyond simply providing on-site counseling to encompass a holistic, preventative approach to youth mental health, garnering attention from school districts across the country.
