Wrestling Club Finds a New Home
- There's that old saying about the benevolent people who plant trees under whose shade they will never sit, and when I was talking to Andy Getzin about the new wrestling
The Ithaca Wrestling Club has found a new home at the South Hill Elementary School gym, thanks to the efforts of club president and coach Steve Lawrence. Previously, the club faced challenges with space and scheduling, often having to practice in less than ideal conditions. The move to South Hill Elementary provides a more stable and suitable environment for the young wrestlers, ranging from ages 5 to 14, to train and compete. This relocation not only alleviates logistical issues but also fosters a sense of community and continuity for the club, which has been instrumental in nurturing young talent in wrestling. The new venue is seen as a significant step forward for the club's growth and sustainability.
