Thermo Fisher Scientific Acquires TREK Diagnostic Systems

WALTHAM, Mass.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE:TMO), the world leader in serving science, today announced that it has acquired TREK Diagnostic Systems, a global provider of microbiology solutions, including blood culture, microorganism identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) products, from Magellan Biosciences. Based near Cleveland, Ohio, the company had full year revenue in 2010 of $34 million and has 150 employees.
