KAHULUI, Maui - February 8th, 2026 - The search for Susan Brady, a 66-year-old woman last seen near Kanaha Beach Park in Kahului, has entered its third day, prompting growing concern among family, friends, and authorities. The Maui Police Department (MPD) is appealing to the public for any information that might lead to her safe return.

Brady was last seen on Tuesday, February 6th, 2026. The initial missing person's report triggered a swift response, with MPD immediately deploying resources to the Kanaha Beach Park area. The park, a popular destination for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and picnics, has been thoroughly searched by both law enforcement and volunteer groups.

"We are treating this case with the utmost seriousness," stated Sergeant Kai Tanaka of the MPD at a press briefing this morning. "Ms. Brady's age and the fact that she's been missing for several days are cause for concern. We are exploring all possibilities, and we appreciate the outpouring of support from the community."

Brady is described as approximately 5'5" tall, weighing 140 pounds, with grey hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and black pants. Police are urging anyone who may have seen a woman matching this description, particularly in the vicinity of Kanaha Beach Park or along the coastal roads, to come forward.

The search operation has expanded beyond the immediate area of Kanaha Beach Park. The Maui Fire Department (MFD) has deployed its Air 1 helicopter to conduct aerial searches of the surrounding coastline and inland areas. Divers have also been utilized to scan the waters near the beach park, though weather conditions on Wednesday and Thursday hampered underwater visibility. Volunteers from local search and rescue organizations, including Maui Search and Rescue (MSAR), have been assisting with ground searches, focusing on trails, brush areas, and the nearby residential neighborhoods.

"We're coordinating closely with the Maui Fire Department and MSAR to maximize our search efforts," Sergeant Tanaka continued. "We're utilizing drones equipped with thermal imaging technology to scan for any sign of Ms. Brady, especially during the cooler evening hours."

Family members have expressed deep worry and are actively involved in the search efforts. A Facebook group, "Find Susan Brady," has been created to share information and coordinate volunteer activities. The group has quickly gained traction, with hundreds of concerned citizens offering assistance and sharing potential leads.

The MPD is also reviewing security camera footage from businesses and residences in the area, hoping to identify any sightings of Brady. They are particularly interested in footage from Tuesday afternoon and evening. Investigators are also interviewing friends, family, and acquaintances of Brady to gather information about her routine, habits, and any potential vulnerabilities.

Authorities haven't ruled out any possibilities at this stage. While there is no evidence to suggest foul play, they are keeping all avenues of investigation open. Given Brady's age, there is concern she may be experiencing a medical emergency or may have become disoriented. The proximity of the ocean also raises the possibility of an accidental fall or being swept away by currents, though searches have so far yielded no results.

Anyone with information regarding Susan Brady's whereabouts is urged to contact the Maui Police Department at (808) 244-6400. Even seemingly insignificant details could be crucial to locating her. The community is asked to remain vigilant and to report any sightings or information to the authorities immediately. The hope is that with continued effort and public assistance, Susan Brady will be found safe and returned to her loved ones.
