Metcare of Florida Scores High Marks in DSS Research Survey on PatientSatisfaction
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. (AMEX:MDF) and Metcare of Florida, Inc., Metropolitan's wholly owned provider service network or PSN ("Metcare"), a provider of high quality, comprehensive healthcare services to people with Medicare across the state of Florida, today revealed the results of a comprehensive customer satisfaction survey undertaken by DSS Research, a leading independent health care market research organization. The survey was designed to assess customer satisfaction with Metcare, its physicians, their staff, and their facilities, and to identify areas for improvement in the delivery of healthcare service. DSS received an excellent response rate (37%) with over 2000 responders to the survey.
High Marks for Communication with Patients…
Overall survey results indicated a high level of satisfaction with more than 8 of 10 responders (84.7%) rating their doctor as 8, 9, or 10 on a scale of 0-10, and 95.0% of responders indicating that they were likely to recommend their doctor to their family and friends. Metcare received high marks from customers who responded that they were pleased with their doctor communication. Results included: listening to customers (98%), showing interest in customers' questions and concerns (95.8%) and describing physical findings (96.3%). More than 90% of survey responders agree that doctors routinely provide complete and accurate information when communicating with them and that their explanations were easy to understand.
Commenting on the survey outcomes, Metropolitan's President and Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Jose A Guethon stated, "We are delighted with these results. Since the beginning of 2007 we have implemented a number of quality-focused initiatives designed to better understand and meet the health care needs of our customers. Clinical programs such as Metcare's acute care system and the post-acute recovery plan, developed by our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hymin Zucker, and other service programs such as our 3-C's: Confidence, Communication, and Competence, appear to be having a significant impact on how our customers receive and perceive the services we offer. The results of the DSS survey point to the validity of these initiatives and confirms the commitment of our physicians and their staff to service excellence."
Survey Results Expected to Lead to Better Deployment of Resources…
Guethon continued, "Because we serve predominately seniors, many of our customers have increased health issues, greater socioeconomic pressures, cognitive challenges, and functional limitations. For these customers, a trusting relationship with their primary care physician, supported by effective and frequent communication, is critical to good health and a quality healthcare experience. As an organization, Metcare learns from these surveys how to better invest and deploy resources such as training and development programs for our associates, physicians, and their staff. These programs are designed to continue to improve service levels, build goodwill and loyalty, and create a competitive edge in the markets we serve. This is consistent with our corporate mission to provide the very best medical care and service to every customer, every time."
