Wed, January 14, 2009 Mannatech Receives Additional Certifications from NSF International
COPPELL, Texas--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Mannatech, Incorporated (NASDAQ:MTEX), a leading developer and provider of proprietary dietary supplements, weight management products and skin care solutions, today announced its [ PhytoMatrix ]® multivitamin/mineral supplement and [ Optimal Support Packets ] have been added to the list of certified products by [ NSF International ], an independent and accredited testing laboratory. To date, Mannatech has received certifications from NSF for its core products of PhytoMatrix® caplets, PLUS™ caplets, Ambrotose AO® capsules and Advanced Ambrotose® powder and capsules. The company has also received NSF certification for its Ambrotose® complex powder and capsules.
NSF evaluated the PhytoMatrix® caplets and Optimal Support Packets, which were certified according to the NSF/ANSI 173 Dietary Supplement Standard—the only American National Standard for dietary supplements. [ Mannatech ] intends to carry the NSF certification mark on the supplements' labels and promotional materials to demonstrate compliance.

NSF International—a not-for-profit public health certification organization—ensures a product's label reflects the contents of the supplement, that all ingredients are openly disclosed on the label and that the product's purity is acceptable. Additionally, NSF assesses each manufacturing site to ensure it complies with Good Manufacturing Practices; NSF will not certify a product unless the manufacturer meets these rigorous audits.
To date, all Mannatech products submitted to NSF have received product certification. Mannatech will continue working with NSF to certify additional products.
