PerkinElmer Expands LED Portfolio with Acquisition of Opto Technology, Inc.
WALTHAM, Mass.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ PerkinElmer, Inc. ] (NYSE: PKI), a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, announced the acquisition of Opto Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of light-emitting diode (LED) based lighting components and subsystems.
The acquisition of Opto Technology adds optical subsystems to [ PerkinElmer's portfolio of high brightness LED components. ]This addition builds on PerkinElmer's leadership position in providing energy efficient solid state lighting solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) serving the health, safety and security markets. PerkinElmer's LED solutions are part of PerkinElmer's Environmental Health business which is based upon helping to ensure a cleaner environment and safer and more secure surroundings.
