Health Net Proudly Sponsors Operation Peer Support at the Blinded Veterans Association 65th National Convention
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Health Net Federal Services ], LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of [ Health Net, Inc. ] (NYSE:HNT), and [ MHN ] (Managed Health Network, Inc.), Health Neta™s behavioral health subsidiary, today announced their sponsorship of Operation Peer Support (OPS) at the Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) 65th National Convention in Washington, D.C. to be held August 24-28, 2010. More than 150 blinded service members and veterans are expected to gather at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, Va., to learn about the latest technologically advanced resources now available to them, as well as ways to strengthen and support one another.

OPS is a program that helps newly injured veterans from Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) attend BVAa™s national convention. This year 12 blinded American veterans, who have recently returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, will have the opportunity to attend and listen to the experiences of their counterparts, and veterans of World WarII, Korea, Vietnam, and Operation Desert Storm. They will join eight other OIF/OEF veterans, and two British Army service members, who will be returning as alumni of the OPS program. Several of these blinded veterans will be sponsored directly by Health Neta™s contributions to OPS.

Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Amos, and Kareem Dale, White House Special Assistant to President Obama on Disability Policy, will serve as keynote speakers. In addition, a high-tech exhibition will showcase technology that improves the quality of life for blinded and visually impaired veterans.
