Quidel Announces Pricing of Common Shares Offering

SAN DIEGO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Quidel Corporation (NASDAQ: QDEL) announced today the pricing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 of the Companya™s common shares at a price to the public of $13.15 per share. The closing of the offering is expected to take place on or about January 11, 2011, subject to customary closing conditions. The Company also granted the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 600,000 common shares to cover over-allotments. The Company expects to use the net proceeds of the offering for working capital and other general corporate purposes, which may potentially include the acquisition or development of new technology, the acquisition of diagnostic or related companies, products or businesses or the repayment of existing indebtedness.

J.P. Morgan Securities LLC is acting as sole book-running manager for the offering.
