Health Net Promotes Thomas Carrato to President of Health Net Federal Services
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Health Net, Inc ] (NYSE:HNT) today announced the promotion of Thomas F. Carrato to president, [ Health Net Federal Services ], LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of Health Net, Inc. In addition, Carrato has responsibility for MHN Government Services, a subsidiary of Managed Health Network, Inc. (MHN).

aIn his new role, Tom is responsible for the daily leadership and management of Health Net Federal Services and MHN Government Services, helping to ensure the successful execution of the annual business unit plan. His responsibilities will include the management and oversight of our Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veteran Affairs lines of business. Carrato joined Health Net Federal Services in March 2006 as the program officer for Health Netas DoD contracts and has more than 27 years of experience in various capacities in government managing and overseeing health care programs. Carrato previously served in roles as Executive Director at TRICARE Management Activity, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Plan Administration and Assistant Surgeon General and Regional Health Administrator for Region IV for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Toughas responsibilities have expanded to now include the oversight and management of all lines of Health Netas government businesses, including the DoD, Department of Veteran Affairs, Medicare and Medicaid. Carrato will continue to report to Tough.
