Implant Sciences Sells Follow-On Order to China's Beijing Subway System

QS-H150 Explosives Trace Detectors Deployed for Transportation Security

WILMINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - Oct 25, 2011) - Implant Sciences Corporation (OTCQB: [ IMSC ]) (PINKSHEETS: [ IMSC ]), a high technology supplier of systems and sensors for homeland security markets, today announced the sale of additional units of its Quantum Sniffer™ QS-H150 handheld explosives trace detector to the Beijing Subway system, an existing customer in China.

The Beijing Subway is a modern system with 14 lines, all of which have been built in the past decade. With 172 stations, the Beijing Subway ranks fifth in the world for annual ridership and is the fourth longest in the world for track length. Having purchased Quantum Sniffers every year since 2008, the Beijing Subway now has over 200 QS-H150 portable explosives trace detectors in service.

"We are very pleased with the repeat business we have been able to obtain from our customers in China and around the world. Our distribution partners and sales team do an excellent job of demonstrating the QS-H150's suitability for a wide range of applications and environments. But the performance, quality, flexibility, and low cost of ownership of the product are what drive follow-on orders," stated Bruce Bower, Implant Sciences' Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
