MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 15, 2011) - Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation (TSX:LW) is pleased to announce that nine Leisureworld Caregiving Centres, from the Company's long-term care division, were recently honoured with the inaugural Residents' First Improvement Award by Health Quality Ontario, an independent government agency tasked with measuring and reporting on the quality of long-term care and resident satisfaction in Ontario. The Leisureworld Caregiving Centres honoured include: Leisureworld Brampton Woods, Brantford, Ellesmere, Elmira, Etobicoke, North Bay, Richmond Hill, Scarborough and Streetsville.

The Residents' First Improvement Award is an innovative program that celebrates the commitment and dedication of Ontario's long-term care homes that have adopted new and challenging quality improvement (QI) initiatives, which ultimately translate into more enhanced care for residents.

In addition, Leisureworld has progressed further, beyond the Residents' First qualifying criteria, to achieve additional significant quality outcomes. The Company launched a LEAN initiative with the purpose of improving the efficiency of its processes and using the time saved to give back to its residents by providing them with enhanced quality care. As a result of its LEAN initiative, Leisureworld caregivers have substantially improved internal processes, resulting in enhanced resident care. Leisureworld Etobicoke will soon be recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement at its upcoming conference in December 2011. This conference is attended by healthcare organizations from around the world and Etobicoke will be presenting its quality improvement initiative, which centres on avoiding ER visits by preventing urinary tract infections and falls.

Leisureworld also announced that, based on recent data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Leisureworld performed better than the provincial average for long-term care operators on 24 of the province's 35 quality-of-care indicators.
