






















Amedisys Welcomes Robert Yungk as Chief Strategy Officer

BATON ROUGE, La.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Amedisys, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMED), one of America's leading home care and hospice companies, announced today that Robert Yungk, a principal with Corporate Health Strategies, LLC, will join the company as its new chief strategy officer (CSO) in May.

In this new role, Mr. Yungk will be leading the company's focus on diversifying its revenue model by engaging hospitals, managed care providers and Accountable Care Organizations regarding the value of home health care and hospice to their patients. He will also be responsible for overseeing home care and hospice business development as well as supporting corporate development efforts.
Mr. Yungk joins Amedisys from Corporate Health Strategies, LLC, where he served as a principal and strategy consultant to early phase private equity. Prior to Corporate Health Strategies, Mr. Yungk was the president of Mercer Health and Benefits leading global operations. At Tenet Healthcare, he held the position of national senior vice president of managed care for Tenet Healthcare, the nation's second largest hospital system. In addition to his managed care operational responsibilities, he led the strategy and development of managed care Centers of Excellence. In addition, Mr. Yungk was the chairman and CEO of Tenet Choices, one of the largest independent Medicare Advantage health plans in the country.
Prior to joining Tenet, Mr. Yungk served in senior leadership roles in the managed care industry. He was president of Cigna Healthcare of Georgia/Alabama, executive vice president of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, a Well Point subsidiary. Previously, he was with United Healthcare, serving as chief operations officer of United Healthcare South, a UHC subsidiary, and national corporate vice president of sales. In addition, he spent the first 11 years of his career with Lincoln National HealthPlans in general management and as Western division vice president of sales.
Mr. Yungk holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and is currently pursuing graduate studies in finance from Harvard University.
He has also served on many health care boards. As a veteran of the armed forces, he served in the Strategic Air Command, U.S. Air Force.
