Penn State Health is implementing a new security system called Evolv Technology at some of its facilities in Pennsylvania, including Hershey Medical Center, St. Joseph Medical Center, and Hampden Medical Center, to enhance safety by detecting weapons. This system, which will be fully operational by mid-September, uses AI technology to screen individuals as they enter the facilities, allowing for a seamless flow of traffic without the need for traditional metal detectors or physical searches. The technology aims to identify potential threats quickly and efficiently, ensuring a safer environment for patients, visitors, and staff while minimizing disruptions.
