VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 23, 2009) - Alston Ventures Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ALO) is pleased to welcome Mr. Wayne Babcock to its Board of Directors and Mr. Troy Winsor as VP of Corporate Development.

Mr. Babcock holds a degree in Geophysics from the University of British Columbia, is a Member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), a former member of Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) as well as a Member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG).

From 1981 to 2004 Mr. Babcock was President/CEO & Chairman of the Board, Dynamic Oil & Gas Inc. Dynamic was NASDAQ and TSX listed and was the largest independent Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company headquartered in BC. The company was sold to an Alberta-based energy trust in 2005. While president of Dynamic, Mr. Babcock was nominated four times for Entrepreneur of the Year (Pacific Section) and was twice a finalist for that honour. He was also President/CEO & Chairman of the Board of Shellbridge Oil & Gas Inc. from 2005 to 2006. Shellbridge was TSX listed and BC headquartered and discovered and developed a new oil pool at Mantario in S. Saskatchewan that was subsequently sold to an Alberta based energy trust in 2006.

Before founding Dynamic in 1979, Wayne joined Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd. in 1966 where he managed Amoco's geophysical exploration of Saskatchewan and southern Alberta Canada's western sedimentary basin.

Mr. Troy Winsor is the President and principal of Winsor Communications Inc., a full service Investor Relations firm. He brings twenty seven years of multi-faceted securities industry experience to the company.
