CALGARY, Nov. 29 /CNW/ - IDC (Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd.) (TSX: IDL), the global leading provider in the growing market for digital radiography (DR), is pleased to announce the highly anticipated release of its proprietary image acquisition software, Magellan version 3.6. Magellan 3.6 is a major upgrade to IDC's CCD based digital radiography product offering in that it allows the software to be translated in multiple languages and meet the needs of IDC's growing international install base. Initially the software is being released in Chinese and Spanish with the expectation additional language translations will be made available in 2011. The Magellan 3.6 software is compatible with the IDC X-Series DR platform and will be available through IDC's global distribution channels.

The Magellan 3.6 software's capability to be in Chinese is particularly important for the two large contracts awarded to IDC for its DR technology by the China Charity Foundation (CCF) in January of 2009 for 300 units; and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) for 600 rural and remote counties in China this past June 2010.

Mr. Sidong Huang, IDC Senior Vice President said of the release, "This software platform represents a major step forward for IDC in supporting its important customer base in the Asia Pacific region where two major contracts are in place and will support the expected plans for IDC's growth in this key region." Huang continued, "We received very positive feedback from international customers who have been using this beta software for the past two months; and I am happy that this new version of Magellan will be now available to all the customers globally."

Mr. Swapan Kakumanu, IDC President & CEO stated, "The introduction of the Magellan 3.6 software with translation capabilities demonstrates IDC's commitment to meeting our customers' needs and continual innovation." Kakumanu continued, "By initially meeting needs of our Chinese and Spanish speaking customers is a major step forward to providing the user-friendly Magellan software for IDC's DR install base globally in the customer's respective languages."

IDC is demonstrating the Magellan 3.6 software at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) industry conference being held in Chicago, Il, USA on November 28th to December 2nd, 2010.  IDC is hosted by its North American master distributor, White Mountain Imaging, in booth # 3809 - South hall.

The Magellan 3.6 software is included with all new IDC DR Systems and available for existing customer upgrades.
