    • A triumphant Redditor has successfully managed to get Doom, Quake, and Half-Life running on a smartwatch. Just weeks after we revealed how another Redditor installed a PSP emulator on their smartwatch so they could play GTA and God of War, a post in the Valve Reddit from u/Ramsey_Doo is going viral in recognition of a similar technical achievement.

A Reddit user named "Frogger3000" has successfully installed a game engine on their smartwatch, enabling it to run classic first-person shooter games like Doom, Quake, and Half-Life. This impressive feat was shared on the r/smartwatch subreddit, where Frogger3000 detailed the process of porting these games to the wearable device. The smartwatch, identified as a TicWatch Pro 5, uses a modified version of the EDuke32 source port for Duke Nukem 3D, which was adapted to work on Android Wear OS. The games run at a low frame rate and resolution due to the hardware limitations of the smartwatch, but this still marks a significant achievement in mobile gaming and smartwatch capabilities. The community has responded with enthusiasm, appreciating the creativity and technical skill involved in bringing such complex games to such a small screen.
