WINNIPEG, Sept. 27 /CNW/ - (TSX: IM) - IMRIS Inc. ("IMRIS" or the "Company") today announced the appointment of Robert Burgess to the Company's board of directors.

Mr. Burgess joins the IMRIS board with a wealth of corporate experience. He is currently a member of the board of directors of Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and is also a board member for a number of private companies. Mr. Burgess is the former Chairman and CEO of Macromedia Inc., and was the CEO for Alias Research, Inc. He has held a number of executive positions including Vice President of Applications for Silicon Graphics, Inc., where he was responsible for leading scientific and medical imaging programs.
