Molina Healthcare Appoints Garrey E. Carruthers to Its Board of Directors

LONG BEACH, Calif.--([ ])--Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH) today announced that Garrey E. Carruthers, a former Governor of New Mexico, has been elected to serve as a director by the Companyas Board of Directors. Dr. Carruthers will fill an existing vacancy in Class I of the Board.

Dr. Carruthers joins the Molina Healthcare Board of Directors following a distinguished career of public service in government, higher education, and health care. Since 2003, he has served as the Dean of the College of Business of New Mexico State University, where he also serves as Vice President for Economic Development, and as the Universityas Director of its Pete V. Domenici Institute.

Dr. Carruthers served as Governor of the state of New Mexico from 1987 to 1990. From 1981 to 1984, he served as the Assistant Secretary of the United States Department of the Interior. From 1993 to 2003, Dr. Carruthers was the president and chief executive officer of Cimarron Health Plan in New Mexico, the predecessor entity to the Companyas New Mexico health plan, Molina Healthcare of New Mexico, Inc. Dr. Carruthers holds a Ph.D. in economics from Iowa State University.
