HARTFORD, Conn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Aetna (NYSE: AET) today announced that it has appointed Thomas F. Cowhey, 38, to lead Aetna Investor Relations, reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Joseph M. Zubretsky. Cowhey will be vice president responsible for maintaining Aetnaa™s relationships with the investor and analyst communities. He replaces Kim A. Keck, who was recently appointed to head Aetnaa™s Middle Markets business organization. The appointment is effective November 3.

Cowhey has been with Aetna since March 2007, most recently serving as managing director of new business development in the companya™s Corporate Development area. He has more than 12 yearsa™ experience in finance, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships. He joined Aetna from Legacy Partners Group, an independent investment banking firm, where he was a principal. His prior experience also includes serving as a vice president at Credit Suisse First Boston, a leading stockbroker and investment bank. Cowhey has a B.S. degree in economics from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. degree with a concentration in health sector management from Duke University. Sam Levitt, who recently joined Aetna from Dowling and Company, will report to Cowhey.
