Health Net Federal Services Awarded Department of Veterans Affairs Contract for VA Clinics in Espanola and Las Vegas, New Mexic
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Health Net Federal Services ], LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of [ Health Net, Inc. ] (NYSE:HNT), today announced it has been awarded a contract by the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVHCS) to provide primary health care, preventive care and outpatient mental health services to Veterans in two Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Las Vegas, N.M. and Espanola, N.M. The contract became effective November 30, 2010, with a one-year initial term and four one-year option periods. The new clinic locations are scheduled to open on April 1, 2011.

The Espanola CBOC will serve approximately 1,200 enrolled patients, and will be located at 110 North Coronado Avenue, in Rio Arriba County. The facility size is 5,225 square feet and was formerly home to medical offices. The CBOC is conveniently located about one-half mile away from Espanola Hospital, as well as laboratory and radiology services.
The Las Vegas CBOC will serve 700 enrolled Veterans, and will be located at 624 University Avenue, in San Miguel County. The facility is 3,141 square feet and was formerly medical offices. The CBOC is located about two and one-half miles from Alta Vista Medical Center, and is conveniently situated near the heart of downtown Las Vegas, N.M.

In partnership with Three Wire Systems, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Health Net supports the VetAdvisor® Support Program in VAa™s Veterans Integrated Services Networks (VISN) 12, the Great Lakes Health Care System. This program assists Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans in their reintegration to civilian life through mental health outreach and health coaching services.
Health Net recently was awarded new VA contracts to provide a network of behavioral health providers to augment VAa™s outpatient mental health and readjustment counseling services in VISNs 6, 19 and 20. These services will support VAa™s mission to expand access to mental health services for Veterans in rural and very rural areas of the country.
