SunFed has issued a recall for cucumbers distributed in the U.S. and Canada due to potential Salmonella contamination. The affected cucumbers were shipped between May 17 and May 21, 2024, and are dark green, approximately 1.5 - 2.0 inches in diameter, and 5-9 inches long. They were sold in bulk to retail distribution centers, wholesalers, and food service distributors in 14 states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. No illnesses have been reported yet, but consumers are advised to check their fridges for these cucumbers and either return them for a refund or safely dispose of them. The recall was initiated after routine testing by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in a sample.
