Richard Snchez, M.D., Named Chief Medical Officer of Molina Healthcare of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Molina Healthcare of Utah announced today that Richard Snchez, M.D., has been named chief medical officer of its health plan, a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH). In his new role, Dr. Snchez will be responsible for oversight of the medical management functions of the health plan, including utilization management, quality improvement, credentialing, pharmacy, and risk management activities.

Dr. Snchez has over 20 years' experience in managed healthcare. His most recent position was Medical Director for Arizona IPA/Americhoice/UnitedHealthcare. Prior to that position, Dr. Snchez was Chief Medical Officer of Molina Healthcare of California. As Chief Medical Officer at Molina Healthcare of CA, Dr. Snchez was responsible for the Medical Affairs Department operations and medical management initiatives. He also worked as Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Care Plan (Schaller Anderson), Coventry Health Care, Humana and Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York City. After completing medical school at University of California at San Francisco, he completed pediatric residency at Childrena™s Hospital of Los Angeles. He then received a Masters Degree of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley.
