BETHESDA, Md.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Coventry Health Care, Inc. (NYSE: CVH) announced today that Matthew D. Eyles has joined the Company as Vice President, Public Affairs & Policy. In this role, Mr. Eyles will help ensure the Company is well positioned to address the rapidly changing government and public policy environment to help meet its long-term business goals and objectives.

Prior to joining Coventry, Mr. Eyles was Vice President, Corporate Public Policy at Wyeth and responsible for leading the public policy function for the corporation and its three major divisions in the U.S. and worldwide. Before joining Wyeth, Mr. Eyles held positions with Eli Lilly & Company and the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). At CBO, Mr. Eyles analyzed the impact on the private sector of legislation reported by several House and Senate committees. Mr. Eyles received undergraduate degrees in political science and history from The George Washington University and holds a graduate degree in public policy from the University of Rochester.
