New Canaan Hires New Director Of Health

The Board of Selectmen approved the hiring of a new director of health for the town of New Canaan during a meeting this week.
New Canaan has appointed Lisa Marie Vastola as the new Director of Health, succeeding the retiring Anna L. DiMaggio. Vastola, who will start on July 1, 2023, brings over 20 years of experience in public health, having most recently served as the Director of Health for the Chatham Health District in Connecticut. Her previous roles also include positions at the Naugatuck Valley Health District and the Bristol-Burlington Health District. Vastola holds a Master of Public Health degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Post University. She expressed enthusiasm about joining New Canaan and continuing the high standards set by her predecessor.
