  Thurston County Health Officer Dimyana Abdelmalek announced she is departing her role in early March. She shared the news at the end of Board of Health meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.

Dr. Dimie Ogoina, who has served as Thurston County's Health Officer since 2019, has announced his departure to return to his home country, Nigeria, to be closer to his family.
