A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Network Open has found that exercise can significantly improve sexual health and overall fitness in prostate cancer patients. The research, conducted by a team from Edith Cowan University in Australia, involved 100 men with prostate cancer who were randomly assigned to either a supervised exercise program or a control group receiving standard care. The exercise group participated in a 12-week program that included aerobic, resistance, and pelvic floor exercises. Results showed that the exercise group experienced significant improvements in sexual function, including better erectile function and overall sexual satisfaction, as well as enhanced physical fitness compared to the control group. The study highlights the potential of structured exercise programs as a beneficial intervention for managing sexual health issues in prostate cancer patients.
