Aetna Expands Help Throughout Mid-America for Members Affected by Floods

The company has adjusted its pharmacy benefit, expanded its employee assistance program and extended the time to file appeals to its members affected by flooding in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Aetna members in flood-affected areas may refill their prescriptions early, if needed. Those members who use Aetnaa™s mail-order pharmacy may receive a prescription at an alternate delivery location or refill a prescription that may have been lost, damaged or destroyed.

Aetna Behavioral Health is offering its Employee Assistance Program resources to all Aetna members, regardless of whether or not they are Aetna EAP customers, during this time of need. Aetna members may contact Aetnaa™s EAP for telephonic consultation and referrals, and for general information such as areas affected by the flooding, shelters and government resources.

Aetnaa™s EAP professionals have experience dealing with traumatic events and are available to help.

Affected members have additional time to submit claims and coverage appeals. Members should inquire with Aetna if they believe their ability to appeal has been hurt by these local conditions. Health care providers are also being granted additional time.
