The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a newly formed Health & Wellness section will provide support to the overall physical, mental, and emotional health of its members.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) has established a new Community Engagement Unit to enhance trust and communication between law enforcement and the community. This initiative, led by Assistant Chief Chuck Ford, aims to foster better relationships and address community concerns more effectively. The unit will focus on engaging with various community groups, including youth, religious organizations, and neighborhood associations, to build a stronger, more transparent partnership. This move comes in response to recent events and a broader push for police reform and accountability across the United States.
