According to a report by TechSpot, Tesla's former AI director, Andrej Karpathy, expressed skepticism about the suitability of humanoid robots for factory work during his time at the company. Karpathy, who left Tesla in July 2022, stated that the idea of using humanoid robots in factories was not a good fit, as specialized robots are more efficient for specific tasks. He suggested that humanoid robots might be better suited for home assistance or elder care. Despite this, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has continued to push forward with the development of the Tesla Bot, also known as Optimus, aiming to create a general-purpose humanoid robot that can perform a wide range of tasks.
